Country: TRINIDAD & TOBOGO

Story: I am a native of Trinidad and am currently writing my own one-woman show about life in the West Indies from a child's point of view. I have also started my own theatre company, Shakesploration (with co-founders Cherie Samuel and Paige Lussier). Shakesploration explores and challenges traditional staging breathing new life into classical literature and poetry from William Shakespeare to spoken word. I have recently performed a danced piece based on Ghandi's philosophy with Path for Peace (directed by Sridhar Shanmugam) at the Indian Consulate and Merce Cunningham Studio.

Natasha and MNE: This is my third performance with Mare Nostrum Elements Movement Theatre. Mediterranean Voices is dear to my heart because it takes me back to Arima, Trinidad, a similar place filled with people getting by in the most difficult circumstances. Thank you Nicola, Kevin and the cast.
