LOIS SILK
Country: USA
Story: As a little girl I saw my first ballet and that set the course
of my life. I did not choose to dance --- dance chose me. I did all the
classical ballets including works by Balanchine and Zina Bethune.
In later years I became a principal dancer in a modern dance
company and had the pleasure to work with choreographers such
as Alvin Ailey, Anna Sokolow, Jean Erdman, Norman Walker,
Shirley Broughton, Frank Westbrook and Marvin Gordon. On the
big screen I danced in "Ragtime" and the Woody Allen film "Zelig"
choreographed by Twyla Tharp. I also work as an actor and writer.
These talents became known to me at an early age so I couldn't
help but trust the direction my life had taken me.
Lois and MNE: Presently being a member of Mare Nostrum
Elements has allowed me to use my years of training and
professional work in a theater venture that encompasses all
aspects of the arts. I believe in Mare Nostrum Elements' destiny
and it is most fulfilling.
