Musician, Performer

Story: Hi, I am Irene. I was born in Leningrad, Russia where I was trained as a classical musician. After moving to New York in 1991 I got immersed in the whole new scene of creative arts and became a part of it. I have been toying with the old Wagnerian idea of putting all the art forms together and let them be. After playing for ballet classes I decided to try what it's like to take a class instead of just providing music for it, so, I've been studying ballet since 1996. In the meanwhile I became a Pilates teacher and starred in a few independent film projects as an actress. I am currently involved with a few performing/dance groups as a dancer. I am a personal trainer and continue playing piano for ballet and modern classes. Most recently I have been performing some solo choreography experiments. Ah, and I teach yoga too!

Irene and MNE: After watching the Elements at work, I thought: I want to do something with these guys, so, after a long talk with Nicola, we came up with an experiment. We decided to include a Voice and Music exploration in the workshops. Well, I guess it went well, after being a guest leader for a few workshops, I was invited to become an Element.
