FRANCESCA TODESCO

Country: SWITZERLAND

Story: I am Swiss Italian and I studied dance in Switzerland, Germany and the U.S. I moved to New York City in the summer of 1998 where I was able to perform in repertoire by Isadora Duncan, Jose Limon, Charles Weidman and Anna Sokolow, among others. I have studied with many great teachers including Jim May, Betty Jones, Catherine Gallant and Loretta Thomas and the Limon company to mention a few. I am currently performing with Catherine Gallant/DANCE, Dances by Isadora and Sokolow Theatre/Dance Ensemble. Other collaborations include Deborah Carr/CO, Kristen Mangione/CO, Anabella Lenzu and Christine Jowers Moving Arts Project.

Francesca and MNE: I met Nicola Iervasi a few years ago, when the gang "foreigner dancers" was meeting regularly in Brooklyn, and saw him ever so often at Peridance Center over the years. I'm very happy to finally be a guest artist with Mare Nostrum Elements Movement Theater for this production of "Mediterranean Voices" and I thank Nicola and Kevin for their trust and dedication to this wonderful production.
