CAMILLE SUGGS

Story: At three years of age, my grandparents enrolled me in dance classes because, I presume, it appeared commendable within the small town of Florida where I grew up. Twenty-two years later, I am certain that they regret this decision as my determination to pursue this "poor artist's profession" has continued to grow. I received my Associate of Arts degree in dance from Florida School of the Arts and then my Bachelor of Arts in theatre from Northwestern State University. My New York acting credits include: Queen Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Jessica in Syllogism. As a dancer in the city, I have performed with New Roots Dance and in Denise LaPointe's choreography for the recent Ballet Arts showcase at City Center. As a choreographer, I have presented work at The Sol Goldman Theatre, Dance New Amsterdam, The Triad, SWEAT Modern Dance Series, and New Dance Group Arts Center.

Camille and MNE: I came into contact with Mare Nostrum Elements through Denise LaPointe. She invited me to view the group's performance at HERE in October of last year and I am happy to be working with them now.
