BARBARA ALLEMAND

Country: ITALY

Story: I was born in Turin, Italy, and graduated from The School of Arts in Milan, where I studied acting, dancing and singing. After working for several years as a choreographer in Europe and Eastern Africa, I produced and directed "Devotion, Motion, Sensation" and "Dance Nuances" at the Palazzo delle Feste Theater in Bardonecchia (Turin). I first came to New York in 2001 to study at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance on a scholarship. I also attended the Stella Adler School of Acting. I am currently working for The School of Visual Arts as a guest lecturer in acting and I performed in various student film productions of the same school. I have just recently finished directing my first short movie and I am working on the screenplay of my first feature film. My wish is to develop as a fine actor and to work as a filmmaker both in the U.S. and Europe.

Barbara and MNE: Nicola saw me performing with Saba Dance Theater and he invited me to attend a workshop with his group. I was very impressed by the research process and by the richness of the exchange among the multi-ethnic artists. I am very happy to perform with every one of them.
